my story

How it all began ...

I have always had a passion and love for hair ever since I was at high school. There was a time when I would have all my girls round before a school trip doing all sorts to each and every one of them! I would even have clients for Eid and wedding events, charging £5 (bearing in mind I was only 14 or 15), I felt like the richest kid in town ☺ However, when school finished I fell into a full time customer service role with a leading bank at their head office which took priority. I worked myself up to management level and hair took a very back seat.

Hamza, My Blessing ...

Hamza my firstborn, was born and I was nearly at the end of my maternity. I didn’t want to go back into a management role, which would mean I’d be working ridiculous hours but the thought of no income also gave me great anxiety. Anyhow, long story short, after much umming and arring my family and husband gave me the nudge to go to my first creative hairstyling course. Given I was self taught and a lot had changed since my hairstyling days I had zero confidence to go into this hair world.

3 years on ...

It was one of the best decisions I ever made! The course gave me the confidence I needed and every year has been a blessing. It has taught me many lessons and experiences but every day I LOVE my job more and more, whether its Bridal Hair, Teaching or a campaign shoot. It’s said ‘ if you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life!’ and I completely AGREE!
